Pop legend Lionel Richie is set to speak tonight at the Oxford Union.

The American singer-songwriter will be following in the footsteps of Michael Jackson and former US presidents when he addresses the historic debating chamber at 7.30pm.

Union vice-president Ravij Dattani said: “We’re looking forward to his insights into the music industry and how he has managed to adapt and remain at the forefront of the industry for over 30 years.”

His talk comes after Korean rapper Psy – whose song Gangnam Style became an internet sensation – spoke at the Union last Wednesday.
