As Joanne Box puts it, sending decorated shoe boxes filled with goodies to troops with reminders of Oxfordshire will have them ‘fighting harder to come home to their loved ones.’
As we tuck into our turkey dinners, we should all spare a thought for all of our brave soldiers who will experience a very different Christmas.
