Jail for car jacker
A traveller from Oxford who stole a car at knife-point has been jailed for almost two years.
Anthony Joyce, 21, forced motorist Stuart Johnson out of his Honda Civic after crashing into him on the A4010 near Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire.
Joyce, of Redbridge Hollow, Old Abingdon Road, Oxford, was one of three people in the van and got out to threaten Mr Johnson with a knife.
He was caught after Mr Johnson picked him out in an identity parade
During a trial at Oxford Crown Court last month, Mr Johnson said the robbery in January 2007 had left him traumatised.
He told the jury: "I think about it every day."
Witness Thomas Baxter also identified Joyce, who had denied one charge of robbery.
He noticed the van's number plate started with P14, which led police to Joyce.
The court heard only 11 such vans were registered in the Thames Valley, one of which was previously linked to Joyce and was registered at Redbridge Hollow.
Mr Baxter said he was 100 per cent sure one of two men he saw talking to Mr Johnson at the side of the road was Joyce.
The stolen car was found the next day in Milton Keynes, although Joyce's DNA and fingerprints were not found in the vehicle.
Joyce claimed he had been at the Fox and Hounds pub, in Abingdon Road, Oxford, at the time of the robbery and denied involvement.
Judge Julian Hall handed Joyce a 21-month jail sentence at Oxford Crown Court on Friday.

Most of the "travellers" around Oxfordshire are Irish gypsies.
As an Irish citizen myself i hate these people with a passion.
Where i grew up in Ireland, they caused mayhem and suffering to us in the "settled" community on a daily basis.
They are freeloading scum who think society owes them something.
I do think society owes them something...prison.
I think every "traveller" site in the country should be raided and they should be MADE to explain where their posessions have come from.
It is not rocket science....
if you claim benefits how in the name of god can you afford a new vehicle......crime.
Take their vehicle/possessions etc and sell it on behalf of the needy in society.
Stuart Johnson did not deserve what was done to him by this animal.
I would have given this scumbag the electric chair with a dry sponge on his head.

Firstly- all those who were on this forum berating the courts for allowing this guy bail, cliaming he'd flee to Ireland- looks like you were all wrong.
Secondly- William- so what if you're Irish? So am I- it does not give you the right to make disgusting comments like those. Yes, it was a serious offence and I would have been terrified had I been the victim. But what was all your crap about the electric chair and a dry sponge. I guess I believe you should know better as the Irish people have experienced oppression. When my family first arrived here there were signs in the windows of boarding houses stating 'No Blacks No Irish No dogs.' Seems dogs were favoured above us. But you've managed to have held on to some pretty serious hatred.

You cant tar or travellers with the same brush, you get good and bad in all! I know alot of good. Why do you think they act like this? becuse people like you, If they go to local pubs they get thrown out NO TRAVELLERS ALLOWED. If you done this an black or asian man it wouldnt be accepted so why is it ok to treat these people like dirt? You get good and bad in all communitys, how narrow minded you all are makes me sick. If this was 40 years ago you all would be crossing over when you saw a black or asian man.

I hate these people because i have first hand experience of what they are like in Ireland.Hence the only reason i stated i was from Ireland.
Have you lived as an adult in Ireland and encountered these animals? i suspect not and do not know these people and what they are truly like..
You are the one speaking utter nonsense such as...
When my family first arrived here there were signs in the windows of boarding houses stating 'No Blacks No Irish No dogs.'
What in all honesty has that to do with what we are talking about?(scumbag gypsies).
Blacks,Irish,or Dogs did not deserve to be discriminated against, that was wrong and a shameful part of this fine countries history.
Gypsies deserve everything they get due to the fact they are lying cheating scum who contribute nothing to society but pain and suffering to others.

I am afraid that unless you have had the misfortune to encounter these people, you cannot possibly comment.
They are in a league of their own as far as causing others to hate them.
While you are most likely a very nice person with liberal views, i suggest you do not comment on something you clearly know very little about.

I am only commenting on Irish Gypsies.

Do not be fooled...
do not trust these people,no matter how long you know them.
