The dynamics of power, idealism and political responsibility will come into focus when a production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar is beamed live to Prestatyn and Colwyn Bay.
The tragedy, which revolves around the spring-time assassination of the emperor after his triumphant return to Rome, is being staged at The Bridge Theatre in London with an all-star cast and will be briadcast by national Theatre live to venues including Theatr Colwyn and The Scala.
The action follows the triumphant return of Caesar to Rome, with a level of popularity alarming to the eternal city’s scheming elite, leading to some of the Bard’s finest through the tormented soliloquies of his close friend Brutus.
Nicholas Hytner’s production fittingly casts dramatic heavyweights such as Bond actor and the voice of Paddington Ben Whishaw as Brutus, Game of Thrones' Michelle Fairley as Cassius, Walking Dead villain David Morrissey as Mark Antony and The Lost City of Z actor David Calder in the title role.
Julius Caesar will screen in Prestatyn on Thursday, March 22 and in Colwyn Bay on Tuesday, April 3 at 7pm
Tickets for the Scala are £15 and are available from http://prestatyn.merlincinemas.co.uk, and £12 for Theatr Colwyn, available from theatrcolwyn.co.uk.
