HARROGATE Town suffered another frustrating afternoon as they were held 1-1 by Moor Green at Wetherby Road in Conference North.

The visitors opened the scoring after just six minutes when Darren Middleton gave Town 'keeper James Lindley no chance of making a save after picking his spot.

The lead lasted just three minutes as Harrogate went down the other end and Chris Ellerker crashed the ball into the top of the net.

Town then pushed forward and Danny Holland volleyed over the bar, Ellerker headed over from Colin Hunter's corner-kick and Darren Dunning's shot was saved by Green 'keeper Daniel Lewis.

On 35 minutes, with Town well on top, Chris Bettney was denied by a post and the two sides were level at the break.

Early in the second half, Holland went over on his ankle and was replaced by on-loan Gainsborough Trinity striker Jamie Smith.

He had a couple of chances, firstly putting the ball over the bar and then having a shot saved with ten minutes remaining. As time ran down, Hunter missed a chance to take the points for Town after heading wide.

After the game, Town boss Neil Aspin said: "I thought we started off quite well, but obviously we conceded a bad goal defensively. It was important that we got back into the game, conceding so quickly puts you on the back foot.

"But, actually it seemed to spur us into life. In the second half, we didn't really look like conceding, but I couldn't see us scoring either."
