THIS was the first meeting since January as the second Thursday in February saw everywhere covered with snow, which caused the meeting to be cancelled.
The speaker for the evening was Peter Edwards and his subject was Scriptease (not to be confused with striptease!) The Bare Facts.
As the title suggested, he had quite a sense of humour as he talked about writing both scripts and speeches, mostly for weddings.
He has been referred to as the Wedding Bard of Avon but he rather thought of himself as a HIT man - a Humorous Informal Toastmaster. He ended his talk by reading an amusing sketch he had written about a wedding.
Before leaving, he kindly judged the competition which was for a piece of royal memorabilia and was won by Pam Bailey.
Second was Doris Parmenter with her MBE medal which she had been awarded for services to her local community when she lived in Hampshire. She had kept this very quiet and we are very proud of her!
The next meeting on Beautiful Beads will be on April 12. Visitors are most welcome.
