STORTFORD moved a step closer to the title with an emphatic win over bottom placed Crostyx.
The 41 point difference between the two sides was clearly evident, as it took the visitors just seven minutes to open the scoring.
Tom Bull created space to shoot at the top of the D, his reverse stick shot was deflected over the keeper by Vernon Brown. The lead was doubled two minutes later after Brown slipped the ball past the advancing keeper.
Then after 20 minutes James Johnson capped off a neat interchange as he slipped the ball home from close range.
Brown bagged his hat-trick five minutes before the interval, as Stortford went in with a 4-0 advantage.
The second half was more of the same, as Scott Shearing extended the visitors' lead after bundling in a short corner.
After 15 minutes D Brown ghosted up from defence and picked up a pass into the D at pace he rounded the keeper and rolled the ball home. With ten minutes to go quick work from Slack and Leonard fed the ball to Vernon Brown who slipped between defender and keeper and rolled the ball into an empty goal to score his fourth of the game and Stortford's seventh.
