CHARD travelled to Sherborne for a fixture they knew would be a hard game. Sherborne are a tough and physical side and on occasions tried to intimidate Chard.
Chard played flowing, attacking football, and after 20 minutes, Andrew Stevenson latched onto a great cross from Ian McHattie to finish with a header for 1-0 up at half time.
In the second half, Sherborne started strongly and equalised, but in the final half hour, Chard found high gear. This paid off when Mark Biss dodged the defenders and slotted the ball home. Things turned hostile on both pitch and sideline when a Sherborne player was dismissed, but Chard held on for a superb win.
