REDDITCH Carers Careline has taken on an additional worker to spread the word to the community about the vital work it does.

Diane Thomas was employed as a carers support worker two weeks ago.

Her role will be to go out and visit groups to talk specifically about being an older carer and to identify more people in the over 55 age group who are caring for a loved one.

She will outline the services Carers Careline can provide in the town and, where appropriate, be able to signpost carers to other organisations in Worcestershire which might be able to provide some additional support or information.

Carers Careline, based in the Ecumenical Centre, Evesham Walk, is a dedicated support agency for carers in the town and local volunteers provide a sitting service that enables carers to have a weekly or fortnightly break.

A charity spokesman said Carers' Careline is always looking for new volunteers either to help provide services or to sit on the board of directors.

Anyone interested in working for the organisation in either capacity should call development manager Jinny Pearce or company secretary Philip Hunt for more details on 66177 or email info@carerscareline.co.uk
