ONE-in-four pubs and off-licences sells alcohol to children, say local Lib Dems.
Their survey shows that, in the last two years in Bury, 26 per cent of test purchases by under-age volunteers - 54 out of 204 - were successful.
The figures were described as shocking by Councillor Vic D'Albert, Lib Dem candidate for Bury South at the next general election.
"As well as being illegal, it is grossly irresponsible for pubs and shops to sell alcohol to under-age people," he said.
" I call on people to report any establishments that make under-age sales."
