A town centre building society branch was closed today after part of the ceiling collapsed inside.
Customers were turned away from Nationwide in Newport Street after the ceiling above the ground floor fell in and affected access to the safe.
Nobody was injured.
A spokesman outside the branch said: "We will not be opening today because the collapse of the ceiling and electrical problems this has caused.
"Because of the way the ceiling has fallen in, we can't access the safe or get upstairs."
