A TERRIFIED shopkeeper was attacked by a robber wielding a wooden rolling pin as he carried takings to his car.
The 55-year-old man was leaving the rear of the Londis store in Bechers, Hough Green, when a mugger suddenly snatched the cash.
The plucky trader gave chase but lost the thief as he fled along Hough Green Road.
The victim was shaken up but not hurt.
The incident happened at 5.15pm, last Friday.
Police found the rolling pin abandoned nearby.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses.
