CYCLISTS are being given a helping hand with the introduction of secure parking for their bikes.
The new cycle lockers are available outside Waves Water Fun Centre in Blackburn and the area is covered by CCTV and will provide safe and secure parking for swimmers, gym users and anyone visiting the town centre.
The cycle lockers are environmentally friendly because they are made from recycled plastic, are easy to clean and have internal hooks for personal possessions.
They represent the first stage of investment in secure cycle facilities across the borough by the council.
Anyone who wants to use the area must call into Waves reception with appropriate identification and complete an application form.
The bikes cannot be left in the lockers overnight.
Councillor Andy Kay, executive member for regeneration said: "These show the council's continued commitment to the Smarter Choices agenda, a national campaign designed to promote sustainable modes of transport."
