The team at Graham Webb International reveals the trends for men's styling this season.

Forget the old short back and sides, men's hair is big business!

The likes of David Beckham, Johnny Depp and even Take That (yes, boys, whether you like it or not you will be asking for the hair of the greatest boyband of all time this spring/summer!) have brought male hairstyles into the limelight.

More and more men are going into salons with requests for texture and layers, but keeping the length, please!

And it's not only styling that is at the top of the agenda. Colour is becoming increasingly popular with a rise in requests for blocks and tonal flashes.

This season, transcend the gender barrier and mix it up a little with tousled texture, strength and glamour - beautiful hair is not just the domain of women.

This spring/summer is all about going with your natural texture - if it's curly, don't fight it and if it's straight use the right products to make the most of any movement.

And with the emphasis on looking good, better than your female counterparts even, by the time the warmer weather kicks in, we guarantee you will be chatting styling and colour choice with your girl friends or your sister in a no-holds-barred seasonal style fest that's just as important for the boys as the girls!

Your questions answered

Q. I generally use wax to give my short hair texture, but I do find that it weighs down the longer sections making them greasy quite quickly. Is there something else that I can use?

A. Wax is brilliant for very short hair, but can be too heavy for longer lengths. Try a clay or a putty such as Clynol's Construct moulding clay which gives matte definition and, because water-based, is less likely to encourage excess oil.
