A packed programme of events and activities across the district means there is no excuse for being bored this Easter holiday.

From traditional Easter egg trails to environmental and wildlife activities - there is bound to be something happening near you.

Tourist Information Centres in Bradford, Haworth and Ilkley are offering a number of activities, such as competitions to name the bunny and Easter Egg hunts.

Tricia Tillotson, Tourist Information Centre manager, said: "It is important for parents to keep their children busy over the Easter holiday, so we would encourage them to come to the TICs and take part in the activities we have organised."

Ilkley Tourist Information Centre is hosting an Easter treasure hunt until Tuesday(Apr10) and on Friday, Saturday and Tuesday, children can join an Easter egg trail around Centenary Square.

But it's not all about chocolate and treasure.

Bradford Council's sport and leisure services is encouraging youngsters to hop on down to their nearest sports centre for a range of sport and physical activity events.

Steve Warner, head of sport and leisure, said: "We are once again providing an extensive and exciting range of activities for children and young people to take part in and get involved with over the Easter holiday period."

Bolton Abbey will be holding two Easter trails over the weekend and circus skills and a beekeeping display will be just two of the attractions at Harewood House, Harewood.

Meanwhile, the Friends of Wibsey park will be handing out mini eggs when they hold their first Easter Egg hunt in the park on Easter Saturday, from 10.30am to noon.

St Andrew's Church at Kildwick will be hosting a special Songs of Praise service on Easter Day, which starts at 6pm and there will be an Easter walk and egg hunt from Askwith Village Hall on the Monday, starting at 2pm.

Oakwell Hall and Country Park, Birstall, is offering the chance to win prizes, including chocolate eggs and book tokens, with its Easter quizzes which will run until April 22.

And East Riddleston Hall, Keighley will be holding its traditional Easter Egg trail from noon to 4pm on Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

Also St Ive's Estate at Harden is holding activities on Easter Monday, with an Easter Egg quiz and children's stories at hourly intervals between noon and 3pm.

Opening and closing times for Kirklees Active Leisure centres, including Spenborough Pool in Liversedge and Whitcliffe Mount Sports Centre in Cleckheaton, will vary through the Easter Bank Holiday. For the first time ever though, all the leisure centres will be open on Easter Monday and swimming sessions will cost just £1.

To get you there, First buses in Bradford will be running a normal Friday service on Good Friday and a Sunday timetable on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, while Arrive will be running a Saturday service on Good Friday.

Northern and Transpennine trains will be running as normal on the Friday with a few exceptions, as will the Saturday service. Services on Monday will be normal.
