A man died after falling from the roof of the NCP multi-storey car park in Brook Street, Kingston last Friday.
Brook Street was closed for most of the day after the man, who is as yet unnamed, fell from the roof of the car park just after 7am. His fall was broken by hitting the roof of a bus which was empty except for the driver and was parked at a stop next to the car park.
The shocked bus driver and a council street cleaner who was driving his roadsweeper along Brook Street at the time were the first to help the critically injured man. Paramedics soon arrived at the scene but he died an hour later.
Kingston police are investigating the death but it is not believed to be suspicious. An inquest will be held by the coroner.
