SHIPSTON businesses have been issued with a final reminder over changes to fire safety legislation which came into force this week.
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service warned under new legislation, anyone who has control of premises including shops, pubs, clubs, schools and offices, will be responsible for carrying out their own fire risk assessment.
The risk assessment will help businesses to identify possible dangers such as boxes blocking fire exists and hazardous materials being stored near heating systems. When the fire risk assessment has been completed the identified risks must then be reduced or controlled.
Businesses can obtain further information and help on what they need to do via the website www.communities.gov.uk or by calling the Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Services helpline Monday-Wednesday on 01926 466282.
