Petersfield 17
Warlingham 17
Warlingham's young pack more than coped with the daunting visit to Petersfield on Saturday by claiming a 17-17 draw.
The Croydon side got off to a poor start by conceding a score within a minute of the kick-off.
After having a try of their own ruled out, Warls finally got on the scoresheet to put them ahead at the interval courtesy of a David Stamp try, converted by Ollie Doe.
The visitors scored again straight from the re-start when full back Rob Hutchings touched down before Doe added the conversion.
But shortly after, Doe was sent to the sin bin and with 14 players on the pitch, Warlingham creaked.
Petersfield made use of the extra man with their capable outside half breaking the midfield defence to score a converted try.
The hosts added another try within minutes to stake a real claim for the points.
Despite having a broken finger, winger Ben Wiseman made three try-saving tackles and two brave runs out of defence to put Warlingham back in charge.
Doe, back on the pitch, scored a penalty to level the score.
With seconds left, Petersfield had the chance to seal the points with a penalty in range of the posts but the kick was missed, giving the sides a share of the spoils.
