A MAN who panicked after crashing his car into a house in Blackrod told police he had been the victim of carjacking, Liverpool Crown Court was told.
Officers were called to Wigan Road, Aspull, by Andrew Manville and were told the false tale. His BMW was found shortly afterwards in Manchester Road, Blackrod.
Manville, of Florence Street, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to attempting to pervert the course of justice and failing to stop after an accident on April 4.
He was ordered to carry out 150 hours community punishment, was fined £350 and had six penalty points added to his licence.
