FIGURES show Greenwich is a property “hot spot” area which is avoiding the slowdown faced by other areas of London.
Property house price rises across London slowed to 0.4 per cent. But Greenwich saw prices rise by 1.3 per cent, boosted by young City professionals moving to the area.
Council Leader Chris Roberts said: “Greenwich is becoming an increasingly attractive and viable place to live as our commitments to improving public transport access bear out.
“However, we are conscious of the need to intervene in the housing market in a positive way to ensure key workers such as police officers, nurses, teachers and others can still afford to live and work here.”
