REDBRIDGE won their first game in four with a tough 2-1 victory over Enfield Town.

The visitors hit the bar early in Tuesday's game before Gary Skerritt headed the hosts in front.

Ricci Crace pulled Town back level before Nick Skelton sealed all three points for the Motormen.

Three days prior to the much-needed win, Redbridge suffered injury-time heartbreak, going down 2-1 at table toppers AFC Hornchurch.

The home side started the game brightly, and after good work from ex-Dagenham and Redbridge player Mark Janney, Paul Daly made a superb save on the line from Kris Lee.

Redbridge came back into the game and debutant Leon Braithwaite should have put them in front, but missed an open goal. Redbridge continued to pressure the Urchins and they were gifted an opening goal thanks to a massive goalkeeping error.

Stopper Dale Brightly came out to smother the ball at the feet of Danny Boateng only to see it squirm away from his hands, and Charlie Bull put the visitors in front.

In the second half a poor clearance from a corner allowed Hornchurch's Gary Cross to pick out Janney, who scored his 19th goal of the season.

Nick Skelton produced an excellent save from Daly in Redbridge's only real chance of the second half.

The hosts searched for a winner, and went close through Simon Parkers.

It looked like the east London side had earned a deserved point but Simon Parker fired home late in the game.
