DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Enayit Khalili in Oxford are appealing for a woman to come forward who may be able to help them find his killer.

They believe she was using a telephone kiosk on the corner of Fiennes Road and Ashurst Road, Rose Hill, a short distance from 26-year-old Mr Khalili's home, in Fiennes Road, at about the time he was attacked.

The new information comes after police stopped motorists near to the scene of the crime to appeal for information last weekend.

Officers stopped people between 4pm Friday and 4am Saturday.

Mr Khalili was found severely injured at about 3.30am on Saturday, March 24, at his home. He died the following night.

Det Chief Insp Andy Boyd said: "I would like to thank the motorists we stopped for their help and cooperation, as well as the media for their help in our recent appeal for information.

"As a result of these, a number of people have contacted us with valuable details.

"This includes the information a woman was making a call from this phone box, which is just yards from Enayit's house. We are appealing for her to come forward: even though she may not realise it, she may have seen something that could prove vital to our investigation."
