A COLLEGE has held a ceremony to celebrate work on its rebuilding project.
The event at the Leigh City Technology College, Green Street Green Road, Dartford, marked the moment when the construction of the roof of the £35m project began.
Kent County Council leader Councillor Paul Carter led the ceremony on Monday.
The new buildings will include four self-contained colleges, double-sized classrooms and centres specialising in business, sport and technology.
Work on the new buildings began on July last year.
When building work is complete, the college will become the Leigh Technology Academy.
The handover of the keys to the development will take place on December 24.
College principal and chief executive Frank Green said: "It is most exciting to see the building coming to life before our eyes. We are all looking forward to moving in."
