PARK delivered when they needed it most.

Coach Mark Warr reckons they now need one more win from their final two matches to secure their North Two West status for another season.

He had Mike Morten to thank on Saturday.

His first half hat trick destroyed Bowdon and boosted his side's survival bid no end.

"Mike destroyed their defence," said Warr afterwards.

"It was a real man of the match performance."

Winnington never looked back after his opening score inside two minutes.

This was quickly followed by a second on 10 minutes when he sidestepped the Bowdon flanker to put Park 12-0 up.

The hosts' could not get hold of the ball as veteran scrum half Warr kept turning their pack round with pinpoint kicks for the corner.

It was from a penalty kick to the corner that Park scored their third try. A wonderfully executed backs move saw Rob Birchall slice through the home defence to go under the sticks.

They did not take their foot off the pedal but Bowdon began to play - their first points arriving through a converted penalty.

But it wasn't long before Park increased their lead when Ben Richardson finished off a lineout move to sneak up the blind side and further extend his side's advantage.

Star man Morten scored his third with a sprinkle of individual magic to give Winnington a massive 31-3 lead at the interval.

Bowdon scored immediately after the restart to give them hope, and they touched down again soon afterwards to make it 31-15.

A further score gave Park a scare, but they held on.

It came at a cost with Warr, Dennett and Taylor all leaving the field with injuries, possibly ruling them out for the final two games.

Sam Barton is back for Saturday's derby at Lymm, kick off 3pm.

Park: Taylor, Dodd, Burgess, Barnes, Carl Patterson, Piggot, Dennett, Richardson, Warr, Morten, Birchall, Mark Patterson, Welch, Jones, Archer.
