Relegation-haunted Thurrock travel to Kent on Thursday to face Conference South play-off contenders Welling United.

The game will take place at Gravesend and Northfleet's stadium, Stonebridge Road as they are still having problems with their floodlights at the Park View stadium.

Fleet manager Hakan Hayrettin believes that the change of venue will aid his side's chances.

He said: "It will certainly be an advantage to us and suit our style of play.

"It's a nice big pitch and we will be able to play our passing game. It will play to our strengths more, as Welling are more of a direct team."

Thurrock have not won in five league games, but Heyrettin believes that is side have turned a corner.

He continued: "At this stage in the season every single point is vital. We picked up a very good point away at Salisbury the other week and another at home to Basingstoke.

"I'm not overly concerned at the moment and I'm confident for the remainder of our games."

Fleet's opponents, Welling, lost their previous game away at Braintree, but Hayrettin emphasised that it will be difficult match on Thursday.

He added: "It will be a tough game and they have a good team. I'm sure they will put us under pressure and we will have to look out for Danny Kedwell."

It will be vital that Fleet marshall 17 goal striker Kedwell. The Welling hitman has previously claimed three Conference South player of the month awards and has had trials at League One club, Brentford, in pre-season.

Thurrock will be without long-term casualties, Greg Heald and Kenny Clarke who has a fractured ankle.

Fleet also have doubts over the fitness of strikers Wes Thomas and Cliff Akurang, who has a sore ankle.
