PICTURE perfect scenes of Cheshire from the pencil of a Wincham artist will be on show in an exhibition.

Line drawing specialist Bill Martin, of Hewitt Grove, will be showcasing some of his latest pictures of familiar Cheshire landscapes from his home village to picturesque cottages in Pickmere and Great Budworth.

When the pieces go on display at Mid Cheshire Antiques and Art Centre in Barnton on April 4 it will be the second time the 79-year-old, who has been refining his technique for almost 50 years, has exhibited at the Runcorn Road venue.

Bill said: "They are local scenes and this time of year is when Cheshire is at its most beautiful. It's a privilege to live and work in such a picturesque county."

Bill has exhibited his work in venues across the county and was instrumental in a show that formed part of the re-launch of the Anderton boat in 2002.

His interest in drawing grew during the 13 years that he served with the Royal Marines in which time he drew cartoons for his fellow marines and captured a variety of scenes from his time at sea.

Bill's work will be on sale at the exhibition, which runs until April 29 and is also available for commission and framed copies of his prints.
