WELLINGTON can develop its status as a premier food town in the South West thanks to secured funding from Taunton Deane Council's Economic Development Unit.
The town has received £6,000 through the Leader+ Scheme and this will continue to fund local initiatives.
Cllr Norman Cavill, executive councillor for economic development, property and tourism at Taunton Deane Council said: "This award is great news as the funds will be used for the innovation and growth of the Food Town, which will assist in the recovery and expansion of both the rural and urban economy. After all, buying locally makes economic, environmental and social sense benefiting the supply and service businesses as well as the customer."
