HUNDREDS of people are expected to take part in a march through Trowbridge to celebrate Easter.

The Good Friday March of Witness will see more than 300 people from churches across the county town take part in this annual event.

Hymns, readings and prayers for Good Friday - on April 6th - will be heard in the streets as Christians follow the cross on a route through the town centre.

The Rev Chris Friend, of Upper Studley Baptist Church, said: "This is a wonderful opportunity for Christians of all denominations in Trowbridge to mark Good Friday together as we prepare for our Easter celebrations. We hope as many people will join us as possible."

The event will begin with a united service at St Thomas' Church at 9.30am, followed by coffee and hot cross buns at 10.15am.

The march will begin at 10.45am from St Thomas' and will head towards St James' Church for 11am. The march will continue along Church Walk and through the town centre ending up in Trowbridge Park.
