A BERKELEY man has admitted being in possession of cocaine, amphetamines and a banned weapon - but denies having steroids with the intention of selling them.
Glen Driver, 23, of The Brambles, Berkeley, pleaded not guilty on Friday to being in possession of 439 tablets and 19 bars of anabolic steriods with intent to supply them on September 1 last year.
But he admitted possession of a quantity of cocaine with intent to supply on the same date, and simple possession of amphetamines, also on that date.
And he owned up to having a weapon that could be used to discharge noxious gas - without the permission of the Home Secretary - again on that day.
Giles Nelson, prosecuting, said that those pleas were acceptable to the Crown and that the steroids charge would be allowed to lie on file.
"He has pleaded guilty to being in possession of a substantial amount of cocaine," Mr Nelson explained.
He added that Driver would also have to face an investigation into his finances under the Proceeds of Crime Act on June 14.
Recorder David Lane QC ordered a pre-sentence report and told Driver he would learn his fate on April 17. Bail was granted.
