A LITTLE boy crippled by cerebral palsy is looking forward to the freedom a special new wheelchair will give him after kind-hearted Kendalians clubbed together to cover the £3,500 price tag.

It is hoped the specially-moulded Hoggi chair, which is not available on the NHS, will help five-year-old Joshua Askew join in playtime with his new school friends at Vicarage Park School.

The campaign to raise money for Joshua, who was born with a serious quadriplegic form of the disease which means he cannot walk, support his head or relax his tense limbs, was launched with the help of Joshua's weekend carer Rose Tideswell and The Westmorland Gazette, last month.
