POLICE are appealing for information to track down £27,000 worth of jewellery stolen from a house in Rose Hill.

The goods taken were mostly Punjabi wedding jewellery.

PC Ian Uttley from the Oxford Burglary Team said: "It's not just about the extremely high financial worth of these items; they had great sentimental value to their owners and so this burglary has been extremely distressing for them.

"We would particularly like to speak to anyone from the jewellery or antiques industry, especially from within the Asian jewellery market, who may have been offered goods they believed were suspicious or stolen."

The burglary took place in Wynbush Road between 8.30am and 1pm on Saturday, March 10.

Anyone with any information can contact PC Uttley via the Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.

If you don't want to speak to police and don't want to leave your name, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
