A FOOTBALL club may be an unlikely place to experience a new age practice, but sceptics and believers alike are invited to Clacton's ground this weekend to be "aura-snapped".

Ian Nicholls from Aurasnaps is travelling from Auchmithie, Scotland on Saturday to exhibit his work at the club from 8pm.

He explained: "We take two photographs of each person - one is a head and shoulders Polaroid picture.

"For the other one you sit with your hands on electronic sensors, which measure your electromagnetic energy.

"This is turned into the colours on the photograph which show the constantly evolving energies of the human aura."

Mr Nicholls believes that we all acknowledge and react to the auras of people around us on a daily basis.

He said: "Common phrases which we use are based around this, like she's got a rosy glow around her', I'm feeling blue' or he's got a sunny disposition'.

"Your picture and reading will show your energies at that moment."

Mr Nicholls, who has run Aurasnaps since last July, became convinced of the practice's accuracy while on holiday in Australia, taking a break from his hectic job as a travel agent.

"It was very stressful - the phone didn't stop ringing for eight hours a day," he said.

"When I had my aura read in Byron Bay, it highlighted how stressed I was.

"There were two places that did it in the area, so to test the theory I had my aura taken in both and the readings were exactly the same."

The photographs can be "remarkable", says Mr Nicholls.

"When you have a performer type like Chris Evans, the photos will always show reds and yellows, because they are always trying to project sunshine," he said.

"An agony aunt like Denise Robertson from This Morning will always be white, very pure colours.

"The picture may even indicate psychic abilities and spiritual activity around you."

Stephen Andrews from Clacton Town FC said: "We are very lucky to have Ian come along."

Anyone interested in having their aura read can go along to Clacton Town's clubhouse on Saturday at 8pm.
