Dave Woozley is determined to get one over on his old housemate tonight when he goes head to head with Weymouth boss Jason Tindall.

Crawley's joint caretaker manager has been friends with Tindall since lodging with him during a brief loan spell at Bournemouth seven years ago.

Woozley spent a month sleeping in Tindall's spare room during his stay with the Cherries and may have been there longer but for a broken leg which wrecked the chance of a permanent move to the south coast.

The pair were both in their early twenties at the time and Woozley admits he would have laughed at the suggestion they would both be pitting their wits against each other in management roles only seven years later.

The Reds defender, who is in charge of team affairs along with John Yems and Ben Judge, is looking forward to the reunion but admits he will not be in the mood for reminiscing if Crawley fail to bounce back from Saturday's defeat at Morecambe.

Woozley, 27, said: "They were happy days when we were living together. Jason is a really good lad and often offered to put new players up rather than them having to stay in a hotel.

"It will be great to see him again and it certainly gives the match a bit more spice. We've been in regular contact since my time with Bournemouth and when I spoke to him last week he said he couldn't wait to lock horns with me again.

"He had been playing up front for Weymouth because of injuries until recently so I might have been marking him but they have got a couple of players back now so I won't be able to give him a kick for old time's sake.

"We'll have a drink together afterwards and have a laugh about being managers at our age. He is only a couple of years older than me (29) so it is amazing that we are both involved in running teams before we are 30."

Reds have encountered a mini-blip in recent weeks following a seven match unbeaten run and Saturday's defeat left them just five points above the drop zone.

Woozley admits they cannot afford to relax just yet but is still confident Reds are on course to secure their safety with plenty to spare.

He added: "We are the victims of our own success in some ways because we went on a long unbeaten run and when it came to an end people started to ask have the wheels come off?'.

"There is certainly no panic at all within the squad, though, and there are probably eight or nine teams below us who would love to be in our position right now. No one likes losing but I have total faith in the lads to keep picking up the points to get us to safety."

Reds have a dilemma up front for tonight's match with Lloyd Blackman definitely ruled out after undergoing a groin operation today while Elliot Benyon is also a doubt after picking up a knock in the defeat at Morecambe.

Marcus Richardson could return to the starting line-up if he recovers from the injury which ruled him out of Saturday's match while Tony Scully is expected to shake off a groin strain.
