THE club held its annual fellowship at the Quality Hotel in Redditch recently with a lunch attended by 69 people.
Opening the proceedings, president Marlene Shaw welcomed Inner Wheel members from six district clubs, together with members of the District Executive and past and present honorary members and guests of the Redditch club.
District chairman, Irene Gardner, who is also a member of the Redditch club, president of Redditch Rotary, Richard Perkins, and the Mayor of Redditch, Councillor Michael Chalk, representing their respective offices, were also in attendance.
Grace was written and read by Marjorie Workman.
After lunch Marlene introduced the speaker, Deborah Shaw (her daughter), who is associate director of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC),and director of the Complete Works Festival.
Deborah gave a most enlightening talk on the production of works staged at the RSC and her involvement in them.
The vote of thanks was given by Pat Pritchard.
Floral arrangements were presented to some of the ladies and the Mayor received a cheque for his chosen charities.
Departing comments were favourable and the afternoon was deemed to have been a great success.
