A GIANT leap forward in space-age home entertainment will hit Worcester when the city hosts one of the most hotly-anticipated product launches of 2007.

World-leading Danish brand Bang and Olufsen's new home cinema centre and loud speaker will be unveiled for the first time at specialist dealership Bang and Olufsen of Worcester, on Saturday.

Hundreds of customers have been invited to be among the first in the UK to experience the BeoVision 9 entertainment master and BeoLab 9 loudspeaker in action.

Simon West, store manager at the Foregate Street shop, said: "These new innovations are absolutely out of this world and we're very excited by their arrival. This is the future of home entertainment and it's being kept tightly under wraps until Saturday. "We're honoured to be demonstrating these products for the first time anywhere in the country."

The launch of BeoVision 9 takes television technology to a new dimension since it performs not only as a television but as the hub of a complete home entertainment system. Its 50-inch HD-ready plasma screen and central loudspeaker provide an unsurpassed home cinema experience and can be linked with up to 10 extra loudspeakers for br-eathtaking surround sound.

It also has a built-in hard disc recorder that can store 110 hours of TV, with a "live pause" facility that allows programmes to be stopped and re-started at any time.

An optional extra is an integrated BeoMedia module which enables digital music files and digital radio, as well as viewing photos and internet content, all through the television.

Customers can test out the equipment on Saturday.
