It was a special day for both Halas Hawks girls Under 14s teams as they were drawn together in the semi final of the Stourbridge League Cup.

The match was a closely fought affair, and a perfect example of a match of two halves. The first half was dominated by the West team who missed a penalty. The second half brought about a change in fortunes with the East team gaining momentum and running out 2-0 winners after goals from Olivia Emerson and Catherine Barrett.

Superb defensive performances from Stephanie Wem (West) and Vicky Warren (East) ensured further goals weren't conceded by either team.

Elsewhere in the girls league, the U12s East drew 1-1 against Withymoor thanks to a Ellie Murphy with Maisie Allen picking up the player of the match award.

Halas are looking to start new girls teams next year particularly at under 10 level and would like to hear from any girls from school years three and four.
