MICHAEL Gardiner from Chard takes a well-deserved break to take in some News half way up the 3,717 meter high Mount Teide in Tenerife.
The trip was a surprise Christmas present from his wife, as Michael was also celebrating his birthday.
He said: "I'm 67 but as my birthday falls on a leap year, it was technically my 16 and three quarters birthday - and we celebrated it in style"
