HEREFORD angler Paul Woodward carried off the top prize in Hereford & District Angling Association's Joe Berrows Memorial Charity Match fished on the Wye last Sunday.
Woodward, of Woody's Angling Centre, landed the title with a haul of 54lb 4oz - 10 barbel and one chub - using a feeder with pellets as bait.
"The match was fished on a rising river, which went up 18 inches during the day, showing a little colour," said HDAA's Brian Powell.
The match was fished between the Belmont Tennis Courts and Bartonsham with 69 pegs.
Evesham angler Lee Gardiner, with a net of 39lb 8oz of dace, was runner up in the competition which raised £340 for local charities.
