WHEN on earth is South West Water going to stop singing from the same hymn sheet - "Let's clobber our customers?" A 16 per cent increase for non-metered customers is obscene, even by today's standards. The 12% for metered customers is only a sweetener for everyone to change to meters and, guess what, when everyone has changed SWW will even clobber us further because they hold the reins and they're not going to see the fat cats go short.

It's a good job they don't have to manufacture the stuff. In my opinion water is a god given right for survival - as is fresh air. What with escalating costs for other essential products, like gas and electricity, I do think SWW could help the pensioners by capping the water at a reasonable price, as is done for single mothers with three small children.
