Life Times Three by Yamina Reza, author of the multi-award winning play Art, comes to Ilkley Playhouse's Wildman Studio Theatre next week.
Described as a wise and witty comedy of manners, the action takes place in an apartment in Paris. Henri, a junior scientist, and Sonia, his business-like wife, are a respectable middle-class couple.
Just as they putting their young son to bed and preparing for a quiet night in, the doorbell rings. On the doorstep are Hubert, Henri's senior colleague, and Inez, his glamorous but vacuous wife, friends they were expecting for dinner the following evening.
So why have they turned up 24 hours before they should? What follows is an exploration of the social, professional and personal relations of the quartet.
