A TEENAGER arrested after a seven-month-old baby girl reportedly swallowed an ecstasy tablet has been bailed.

The baby's condition was originally described as critical after paramedics picked her up from an address in Gravesend High Street on Monday at 7pm.

She was initially taken to Darent Valley Hospital and later transferred to St Thomas' Hospital, central London, where her condition improved.

An 18-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs shortly afterwards.

A police spokesman said the woman was bailed yesterday evening but did not have a return date.

The baby was transfered back to Darent Valley Hospital yesterday.
