Stalwarts of the British Legion have been given certificates and letters from the national organisation. Eight people from the Cross Hills and District branch have been rewarded for their services to the legion and the poppy appeal at a ceremony which also marked the retirement of Joan Carter, branch secretary. Joan has been a member for 61 years.
