YORK City manager Billy McEwan has set striker Craig Farrell a 15-goal target for the season.

The in-form Farrell will once more spearhead City's attack against Tamworth tomorrow in the absence of the top-scorer Clayton Donaldson.

Three goals in his last four outings have seen Farrell boost his 2006-07 tally to six but McEwan feels he can more than double that number between now and May.

City will again look towards the 24-year-old forward to find the net in tomorrow's home game, with Hibernian-bound Donaldson serving the final game of his three-match ban and McEwan also believes other players can contribute in front of goal.

He said: "Craig tells me he's scored six goals and had six disallowed this season so he's getting in there. I'm looking for him to get 15 and still believe he can get that.

"The midfield chipped in with the goals against Grays and we need defenders to score from set plays as well. To do that, we need to work on our delivery but that's sometimes difficult on our pitch because you can't stand up in the corners."

McEwan could give on-loan forward Rob Elvins, signed from West Brom this week, his full debut against Tamworth alongside Farrell and added: "We brought him in to compete for a first-team place and he's a young player with ability."

McEwan may also opt for James Dudgeon at centre back instead of Danny Parslow, who has been given the all-clear to play after suffering from concussion last weekend.

Tamworth are bottom of the Conference table but McEwan is insisting his players take nothing for granted.

He said: "It's a dangerous game and is all about the attitude of our players. They must not think it will be easy after looking at the table because there are no easy games.

"We got stuffed at St Albans on an embarrassing day for the club and if we get chances we must be ruthless and show them no mercy."

Despite being 12 points adrift of leaders Dagenham and Redbridge, McEwan also feels there is still plenty to play for during the last three months of the regulation season.

He said: "We are three points behind Oxford now and were 16 at one stage so we have to try to catch Dagenham but we have also got teams behind us with games in hand and we have dropped home points so we need to make up for that."

McEwan added that he had tried to bring more players to the club before the transfer window closed at midnight on Wednesday, saying: "We were at the club until 11pm so it wasn't for the want of trying that we did not get anybody else in but sometimes there can be a long chain because players you want can't be released as that club has not been able to get a replacement in from another team who might have had the same problem.

"If we need to get a player in after February 7, though, we can still do it on an emergency loan providing we have a legitimate reason."
