The proprietor of a Blackpool hotel has been fined £8,000 for noise nuisance.
David Helmsley, of the Fairway Hotel, Hull Road, was found guilty in the Blackpool Magistrates' Court yesterday (Wednesday) of four breaches of an abatement notice which had previously been issued under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 for noise nuisance caused by loud music.
It is the largest fine for noise nuisance to date in Blackpool and Mr Helmsley has also been instructed to pay Blackpool Council costs of £4,133.90.
