RYE House's Chris Neath produced a respectable performance in Sunday's Premier League Speedway riders Championship at Sheffield.
He finished second in his opening ride behind Jason Lyons, but ahead of Michal Makovsky and William Lawson, then repeated that performance in Heat Five, as he passed Josef Franc on the first lap to follow home Tomas Topinka, with Franc and Mark Lemon tailing in behind him.
Two pointless rides followed, before he outpaced Shane Parker and Carl Wilkinson to take second place behind Gary Havelock in Heat 20. His six point total left him 11th overall.
The meeting was won by Somerset's Magnus Zorro' Zetterstrom, with Jason Lyons of Mildenhall second and Redcar's former World Champion Gary Havelock third.
Rye House face Somerset at home in the play-offs on Saturday following the previous night's visit to the Oak Tree Arena on Friday.
