Singing star Katie Coleman
A GIRL Guide has sung her way into the finals of a regional music competition.
Katie Coleman, 12, of Woodlands Green, Middleton St George, triumphed in the South Durham heats of the Guiding Star event.
Now the Hurworth School pupil, who won through with a performance of Paul Weller's The Loved, will take on rival Guides in the regional round in June.
She then hopes to reach the national finals, which take place in Sheffield later this year.
