REBECCA Robinson, of Kendal AC, slashed over a minute off the women's record and finished sixth overall in the New Balance Keswick Round-the-Houses Road Race last Wednesday.
Robinson, from Windermere, who is a doctor at Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle,clocked 30 minutes exactly for the 5.3-mile town race.
She finished seven places ahead of English Cross-Country Champion for her age 16-year-old Laura Park, from Deaham, of Ellenborough AC, who was also inside the previous record. in 30-57.
Paul Rockliffe running for Manchester club Trafford AC opened an early clear lead but had to fight off a late challenge from Brina Taylor in a sprint finish foir a winning time of 28-06.
