Ten year old David Jones emerged as the only triple winner in the first track and field meeting of the year at the Stanley Park Arena at the weekend.
He proved his dexterity by winning the 60 metre sprint title in 12.20 seconds followed by the middle distance 600 metres in two minutes 02.40 seconds and the long jump, which he won by a wide margin with 4.03metres.
One of the club's established starlets, Lucy Mansfield, took the sprint double in the under 15 girls division. She won the 80m in 10.60 seconds, ahead of her teamate Katy Wyper who clocked 10.80 and the 200m in 27.20 with Wyper again taking second place in 27.70.
Tash Gardner was also a double winner taking the under 11 girls 80m sprint in 11.70 secs and the long jump with a leap of 3.10m from a large field of 20 competitors.
