THERE will be rhythm and blues at the racecourse this year when Jools Holland performs in the region.

The star, famed for his BBC show Later ... with Jools Holland, will bring his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra to Durham Racecourse on Saturday, July 28.

The orchestra will feature singers Lulu, Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall, while concertgoers will be encouraged to bring a picnic and make the event a party atmosphere.

Gates will open at 6pm with the concert at 8pm.

The event is organised by the 2020 Visioning Project.

Tickets booked in advance are £30 for adults, £15 for children, aged five to 15, while under-fives will go free. Discounts for groups are available.

On the night, prices will be £37.50 for adults and £20 for five to 15s, with under-fives free.
