RECEPTIONIST Nina Marshall is in training to become a marathon mum.

Four times a week in all weather Nina is pounding the streets of Clacton in the early mornings before work preparing for her first ever London marathon.

The 36-year-old mother of two admits the training is very challenging but she's into week 10 and determined to raise as much as possible for the Market Field special needs school in Elmstead Market where three of her friends have children.

Nina from Clarendon Park, Clacton, who works part time at the town's hospital, is hoping she will be clocking up less than four hours 30minutes on the big day and with six weeks to go she is running a half marathon in just over two hours.

The London marathon in April is Nina's first ever marathon although she has been running for two years and completed a half marathon before.

Her husband Austin and children, George,11 and Sian, 10 will be going to London to cheer her on and Nina hopes to raise at least £1,000 to help the school provide a respite accommodation for families at the school.
